rolled away the stone from the tomb of Christ, and Christ was raised

The guards
froze and could do nothing to hinder the angels work

Mary Magdalene,
Mary the mother of Jesus and other women came to the tomb to finish
the burial process

They wondered
how they would roll away the stone, but found the stone rolled away
already

The women
went into the tomb except Mary Magdalene who rushed off to find Peter
and John

The women
inside the tomb were told by two angels that Christ had risen. They
left the tomb to find the disciples

Jesus then
met the other women and told them to tell the disciples that he was
alive
-
Peter and
John arrived at the tomb in great haste and saw the grave clothes.
John was beginning to "believe"

Peter and
John went home

Mary Magdalene
arrived in a tearful state. She saw two angels in the tomb and asked
them where the body of Jesus was. She did not wait for an answer.
She then turned and met Jesus after initially mistaking him for the
gardener. Jesus told Mary Magdalene to tell his disciples that he
was alive again

The Jewish
leaders meanwhile were concerned as to how to explain the empty tomb
-
Jesus appeared
to two on the road to Emmaus and explained how the Old Testament foretold
all that had happened

The two
rushed back to Jerusalem to tell the disciples what had happened
-
While the
two were telling the other disciples what had happened, Jesus appeared
to them. He ate food to convince them he was alive. He also explained
how his work had related to the Old Testament

Thomas not
being present, refused to believe unless he saw Jesus crucifixion
marks

After eight
days, Thomas was invited to put his hand in the marks on Jesus
body

The disciples
went to Galilee and met Jesus on an appointed mountain, where he again
explained the Old Testament scriptures about himself
-
Jesus gave
them a commission to teach all people about Gods plan of salvation
through him

Peter decided
to go fishing, and caught nothing
-
Jesus appeared
and told him where to cast the nets for a big catch - reminding him
of a similar incident earlier

Peter re-affirmed
his devotion to Jesus
