Thomas doubts and then believesJohn 20 v 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe." Thomas expressed his doubt about the resurrection of Jesus. Many of us may feel like this at times, but these references all show us that God condemned Israel because they had seen the wonders and signs and still not trusted in Him:
But John 20 v 26 to 29 tells us that Jesus was patient with Thomas. People rising from the dead was a difficult concept for the disciples to grasp at that time. John 20 v 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. John is here assuring us that sufficient evidence has been left on record to encourage our faith. |
