Mary Magdalene sees the risen Jesus

John 20 v 12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

Mary saw the angels in the tomb. They asked her why she was weeping, and she replied, but did not wait for any further comments from them (verse 13), she was in no state of mind to talk to anyone - not even angels!

Verses 14 to 17 relate that Jesus himself was then standing outside the tomb near to Mary. Understandably, she mistook Jesus for the gardener, and asked him if he knew where the body was.

In verse 17, Jesus told her not to stay there embracing him, because she had important work to do in telling the disciples that he was alive. This she immediately did, as verse 18 tells us.
